Sam, a West Virginia native, moved to Massachusetts in 1982 and worked construction until 1989. While attending Bay State School of Appliance (BSST), Sam met Jim Habib, who was an instructor at BSST. After graduation, Sam was offered and accepted a position working under Jim Habib's supervision. Jim mentored Sam for approximately 6-8 months. In 1988, Sam established his own one-man appliance service business in Franklin, MA, D&S Appliance Service, Inc. After 10 years of providing great service as a one man operation, on October 1st, 1998, Jim and Sam joined forces as partners to grow D&S Appliance Service, Inc.

Jim is a Massachusetts native who graduated from the New England Appliance Service School in Brighton in 1976. After graduation, Jim trained and worked under his father’s supervision, at his family owned appliance repair business, Appliance Service Center, Inc. in West Roxbury, MA (est. 1955). Jim worked for his father for 10 years as a technician before taking over as Service Manager in 1986. On October 1st, 1998, Jim and Sam Bonacci joined forces as partners to grow D&S Appliance Service, Inc.

On October 1st, 1998, Jim and Sam joined forces as partners to grow D&S Appliance Service, Inc. Charlie L., a young up and coming technician, who had been with Appliance Service Center, Inc., (Jim's former company), joined the newly formed partnership. Charlie continues to show his dedication to the service industry to date. Jim managed customer service and shop repairs and Sam took the lead as head technician. D&S Appliance Service, Inc., rapidly expanded! Accordingly, Sam and Jim hired office support and additional technicians to meet the needs of their growing client base. In September of 2011, Whirlpool Appliances Corporation approached D&S Appliance Service with the newly developed Service Partner Program. This program has brought modernization to the business with a focus on providing exceptional customer service, and a major investment to upgrade technology with a move to a paperless workforce.

The Eagle Scout award is a performance-based achievement. Not every boy who joins a Boy Scout troop earns the Eagle Scout rank - only about 5 percent. This represents more than 2 million Boy Scouts who have earned the rank since 1912. Nevertheless, the goals of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness—remain important for all Scouts, whether or not they attain the Eagle Scout rank.
Becoming an Eagle Scout is a high honor, and again, we wish to give all of our congratulations to Joe and his family.

Please join us in congratulating Joe Habib on his rank of joining the Eagle Scouts. Joe is the son of Jim and Sandy Habib, one of the owners of D&S Appliance Service. Joe’s Grandfather, Joseph Habib was also involved in scouting and was a Scout Master in West Roxbury and Roslindale for many years in the late 60’s to mid 70’s. He mentored his grandson in the ways of scouting.
As an owner of D&S Appliance, and therefore a mentor, it has always been Jim’s desire to install core values in his technicians and employees. These mirror some of The Boy Scout’s core values.
